MG ZS makes global debut
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 24 - 12 - 2016

MG has confirmed that the new MG ZS, which made its global debut at the recent 14th Guangzhou International Auto Exhibition, is set to arrive in the Middle East in late 2017. The new SUV introduces a new design language from MG and a host of technological features tailored to the needs of the younger generation.
Armed with an intelligent Internet system, the MG ZS provides each user with an independent log-in ID. This system can recognize the driver and personalize functions such as remote control unlocking and air-conditioning. In addition, voice command can be used to open and close the sunroof, change the vehicle's temperature, control music playback and navigation. This use of hands-free controls allows users to focus on the road, ensuring a safer ride.
In addition to human-vehicle interconnection and intelligent voice control, the model's flexible navigation system is capable of independent route planning, map zooming by speed and responding to road conditions with zero engagement of the driver.
As well as the cutting-edge technology built into the MG ZS, customers will also be attracted by the model's striking design. From the rear, it looks solid and full of power with Big Dipper shaped tail lamps while up front the body of the MG ZS is equipped with a galvanized sky-star grille, and striking headlamps which take inspiration from the iconic London Eye. The draping shoulder, tight beltline and drawn-backward side windows seen in MG ZS will become the core of next generation MG design.
As a small SUV directed at young professionals, the interior of the MG ZS has a great sense of style. The interior is wrapped with two-tone materials while the top of the console is embellished with a silver trim strip. Created with the younger generation in mind, the new model is equipped with an eight-inch LCD screen which houses an intelligent interconnection system. A rear-view camera and panoramic sunroof are also available as standard.
The MG ZS will offer a choice of two petrol engines: a 1.0T (16T) and 1.5L. The maximum power output of the former will be 125hp with peak torque of 170Nm, while that of the latter will be 120hp with peak torque of 150Nm.
Commenting on the debut of the MG ZS, Sun Guang, General Manager of MG Middle East said: "The younger, Millennial generation, born in the 80s and 90s, grew up with the internet in the information era. For them, a car is more than just a means of transport. It was therefore a logical next step for MG to create a model which meets the needs of our younger generation while staying true to the key offerings of our MG models. We are confident that the MG ZS will be well received in the Middle East, a region passionate about the latest advances in technology''.
The new SUV model from MG is expected to be available to customers in the Middle East in the fourth quarter of 2017.
