The Kingdom and Indonesia on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on combating corruption. The objective of the MoU is to enhance international cooperation and collaborative efforts in combating corruption as well as developing, promoting and increasing their institutional capacity. The Indonesian side was represented by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Kingdom was represented by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha). Under the MoU, both governments will jointly work to, inter alia, exchange research, studies and information on anti-corruption measures and criminal methods, visit of experts, conduct relevant technical cooperation such as training and workshop and provide technical assistance in combating corruption. The MoU was signed by Agus Rahardjo, chairman of KPK and Dr. Khalid Abdulmohsen Al-Mehaisen, president of Nazaha. The signing of the agreement was witnessed by Agus Maftuh Abegebriel, ambassador of Indonesia and permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and Dr. Laode Muhammad Syarif, vice chairman of KPK and attended by senior officials from KPK and Nazaha. Indonesia recognizes Kingdom's continued efforts on combating corruption and looks forward to working jointly on the issue, a press release issued on the occasion said.
