MOBILY, in cooperation with Cisco Jasper, on Tuesday announced it is providing a connectivity management platform for Machine to Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) for enterprises to enable them to manage their connected devices efficiently. This platform is now completely hosted at Mobily data centers and is available Kingdom-wide to enhance the data performance and security of M2M and IoT customers. Enterprises benefit from Mobily Control Center, provided by Cisco Jasper, in managing the connectivity of IoT applications efficiently which increases the service performance and lowers the cost of ownership. The platform provides a group of unique functions including data usage control, the ability to define different business rules, self-connectivity diagnostics, and the flexibility of having customized data packages based on allocated data per SIM or shared data pools with any number of SIMs and dynamic package switch based on usage behavior, in addition to many other features. The Mobily M2M/IoT platform, in addition to device management and applications management platforms are the core of many IoT applications that Mobily business intends to launch in the Kingdom to serve different industries. Analysts foresee that IoT applications will reach 28 billion connected devices worldwide by 2020, and the overall markets income will increase to reach 7 Trillion USD. In order for that to be achieved, the infrastructure should be capable of providing the required support to the increasing demand of data, managing different types of connected things, high coverage, advanced data analysis, supporting data security and data management, and many other requirements.
