Published in The Saudi Gazette on 03 - 11 - 2016

New York goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made a season-high 35 saves for his 60th career shutout to lead the Rangers to a 5-0 win over St. Louis Tuesday.
The win was enough to keep the Rangers a point clear atop the Metropolitan Division but the other two divisional leaders in action both lost: Toronto beat Edmonton in overtime, and Minnesota was beaten at home by Buffalo.
Elsewhere, Columbus pulled off a great escape, tying the game against Dallas with just 16 seconds left and then netting the winner just seconds into overtime.
New York›s Jimmy Vesey had a goal and two assists, and Dan Girardi, Rick Nash, Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Hayes also scored for the Rangers.
New York›s first four goals were scored with 7:05 still remaining in the second period, prompting a change of goalie by the Blues, with Jake Allen replaced by Carter Hutton.
Toronto›s Nazem Kadri got his second goal of the game in overtime, lifting the Maple Leafs over Edmonton 3-2.
Toronto›s Connor McDavid and Edmonton›s Auston Matthews were scoreless in the anticipated first matchup of the last two No. 1 draft picks.
Ben Smith also scored for Toronto, while Anton Lander and Darnell Nurse netted for the Oilers.
Columbus› Sam Gagner scored the last-gasp tying goal and Seth Jones netted the winner 46 seconds into overtime as the Blue Jackets downed Dallas 3-2.
Columbus pulled it goalie for an extra skater on a power play in the final minute, leading to Gagner›s slap shot from atop the left circle.
Jones then won it with a wrist shot through traffic from above the circles.
Nick Foligno also scored for Columbus, while Jason Spezza and Tyler Seguin scored for the Stars.
Buffalo›s Johan Larsson had a third-period goal in his return to Minnesota, helping the Sabres beat the Wild 2-1.
Larsson, who played one game for the Wild in 2012-13 before being traded, batted a bouncing puck past goaltender Devan Dubnyk with just over six minutes left.
Ryan O›Reilly added a goal for Buffalo and Robin Lehner made 27 saves for Buffalo.
Boston›s Brad Marchand and Dominic Moore scored to lead the Bruins to a 2-1 win at Florida.
Denis Malgin scored his first NHL goal for the Panthers, ending a shutout streak of 131 minutes and 11 seconds by Bruins goalie Tuuka Rask.
Tampa Bay›s Nikita Kucherov had two goals and two assists to power the Lightning past the New York Islanders 6-1.
Steven Stamkos, Brian Boyle, J.T. Brown, and Valtteri Filppula also scored while Ben Bishop made 26 saves for the Lightning, which was unbeaten in regulation time on its six-game road trip.
Dennis Seidenberg scored for the Islanders in the first meeting between the teams since Tampa Bay won their Eastern Conference semifinal last season.
Chicago›s Patrick Kane had a goal and two assists as the Blackhawks downed Calgary 5-1.
Washington›s Jay Beagle scored with 30 seconds left in the third period to give the Capitals a 3-2 victory over Winnipeg.
Ottawa›s Kyle Turris scored in overtime, lifting the Senators past Carolina 2-1.
Nashivlle›s Craig Smith scored twice as the struggling Predators took a 5-1 road victory at Colorado.
Anaheim›s Rickard Rakell had a goal and two assists in his season debut, helping the Ducks cruise past local rival Los Angeles 4-0.
Arizona›s Louis Domingue stopped 39 shots and Brad Richardson scored in his 600th career game, lifting the Coyotes past San Jose 3-2. — AP
