JEDDAH — MCH Premier, MB Stars, Pak Shaheen and Naseem Al-Zahra prevailed by big margins in the opening week matches of the CIT SPL T20 2016 which is sponsored by Canadian International Trading Company (CIT) and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
The event is also being co-sponsored by Ace Travel, Bison, Hyderabad Sharks, Initial Services, Khind Electronics, Maui Jim Sunglasses, Mizo Juices of Arrow Foods and Pepsi (SIPCO).
Defending champion MCH Premier comfortably beat last year's runner-up ACE Travel by 76 runs, helped by a superb century by skipper Shahbaz Rasheed; Pak Shaheen recorded a massive 128-run win over KAIA, backed by an unbeaten 76 by Usman off 28 balls and Naseem Al-Zahra posted an 6-wicket victory over Hyderabad Sharks, inspired by a brilliant 93 by Aamir Wahla. In other matches, MB Stars shot down Saudi German Hospital by 41 runs riding on a superb 138 from Mohsin Raza, Peeran XI recorded a thrilling 12-run win against Malik XI, thanks to superb bowling by Shahid who took 6-29 including a hat trick and Hala International School beat MCH Green by 24 runs as Rafath took 5-21.

Hala International School defeated MCH Green by 24 runs. Hala International School 186-8 (Jawad 46, Zahid 25, Shahjahan 31; Owais 3-34, Ashfaq 2-36). MCH Green 162-9 (Rahil Subhani 41, Ashfaq 39, Owais 33; Rafaqath 5-21). Man of the Match – Rafaqath.
MB Stars downed Saudi German Hospital by 41 runs.
MB Stars 255-7 (Mohsin Raza 138 off 69 balls, Amer 27; Irfan 3-36, Waqas 2-41). Saudi German Hospital 215 (Taqi 93 off 49 balls, Waqas 28, Huzaifa 29; Zia 2-22). Man of the Match – Mohsin Raza.
Pak Shaheen trounced KAIA by 128 runs. Pak Shaheen 268-7 (Osman 76 off 28 balls, Malik Shaan 50, AB Ghafoor 48, Faisal 32, Ataur Rehman 36 not out; Khaled 4-40, Nazeer 3-56). KAIA 140 (Fahad 31, Samad 28, Attaur Rehman 3-24). Man of the Match – Osman.
Peeran XI beat Malik XI in a thriller by 12 runs.
Peeran XI 173-5 (Waqar 40, Abdur Rahim 36, Humayun Farooq 40 not out). Malik XI 161 in 19.5 overs (Fida 66, Owais 43; Shahid 6-29). Man of the Match – Shahid.
Naseem Al-Zahra crushed Hyderabad Sharks by 6 wickets. Hyderabad Sharks 182-8 (Mohammed Shahzad 55, Mohammed Hassan 44; Osman 3-31). Naseem Al-Zahra 183-4 in 17.5 overs (Aamir Wahla 93 in 40 balls, Nadeem 40; Mohammed Hassan 2-34). Man of the Match – Aamir Wahla.
