Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The Izhaar Urdu Talk Masters, an Urdu Toastmasters club in Jeddah held its 73rd meeting for its members recently in a local restaurant. TM Ahmed Mohiuddin welcomed all the members. TM Mohammed Aslam Afghani compered the event and started with the theme of the evening "sacrifice". He said, "The word sacrifice means that something is given up in order to benefit a person, community or a nation. He gave an example of parents who make sacrifices to nurture a child by making him an asset of the family and society as well. The big achievement demands a big sacrifice, we gathered to promote our mother tongue Urdu by sacrificing our time and energy. Because nothing can be achieved without sacrifice." TM Syed Naser Khursheed presented his advance project interpretive reading on "Dream" and TM Syed Abdul Naser gave a lecture on "Emotional intelligence". In the table topics session, TM Abdul Sattar hosted the session by inviting different members and guests present in the audience. TM Imran Kausar, TM Mujeeb, TM Abdul Rasheed Osmani and TM Asgar Haris were among the guests. The general evaluators for the sessions was TM Asgar Haris and TM Abdul Sattar. The timekeeper of the different sessions was TM Mohammed Liakat Khan while TM Moinuddin was the error counter (Aah counter) of the evening. TM Imran Kausar said, after the meeting, "It was nice to see a small gathering of the members of the Toastmasters which shows the value of Urdu language among the communities. I would like to bring more members to this club so that they rectify the mistakes they do regularly in their routine life with the help of the seniors of this club." TM Asgar Haris said, "I feel proud to see the promotion of Urdu language through this toastmasters club." TM Mujeeb said that one can rectify all the mistakes in Urdu while speaking in our daily life through the help of this club. TM Abdul Rasheed Osmani said that I am confident enough with the executive team of the Izhaar Urdu Talk Masters Club and I am sure they will try their best to promote Urdu language with the help of this club. I request more members to join this club and rectify one's mistake with the coordination of the seniors of this group. TM Mohammed Aslam Afghani, president, Izhaar Urdu Talk Masters, congratulated all the winners of the meeting and said that members are increasing day by day in the club as well the Izhaar Urdu Talk Masters club is gaining its popularity and thanks to media for publishing the club's news regularly in their respective newspapers. The program concluded with the announcement of the winners of the meeting by TM Moinuddin. Best table topic speaker award was given to TM Syed Abdul Nasir, while best speaker for spontaneous topics session was given to TM Imran Kausar.
