Tilal unveils Sharjah's largest mall project
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 13 - 09 - 2016

DURING its 2nd day participation at the recently concluded Cityscape Global 2016, Tilal Properties, Sharjah's pioneering real-estate and property developer and the first to develop properties with freehold and free-lease policies in the emirate, unveiled "Tilal Mall", Sharjah's biggest and major upscale commercial and retail destination located at the heart of its flagship project "Tilal City".
The unveiling ceremony at the Tilal Property stand in Cityscape Global 2016 showcased the final masterplan of Sharjah's new ritzy-built mega mall with the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman, Tilal Properties, Khalifa Shaibani, Director General, and Haysam Jazairi, Business Development Executive Director.
Scheduled for construction in mid-2017 with an official opening schedule for 2019, "Tilal Mall" will span a total space of approx. 2 million sq ft, making it the largest mall and upscale commercial hub in the emirate of Sharjah. The mall will also offer residents at Tilal City and neighbouring areas easy access to a well-rounded living, leisure and working experience, as well as host a range of retail selections, including exclusive high-end brands, a multi-screen cinema, family entertainment centers, a selection of culinary outlets and a hypermarket.
A 65-hectare recreational park will add a unique feature to the mall's attractions. Offering a stimulating environment, the park will have dedicated event spaces, amphitheatres, pavilions, waterfalls, as well as plazas with several restaurants and kiosks. The park will also host a range of outdoor fitness and exercise facilities and activities including a climbing wall, basketball courts, soccer pitches, a skate park and many other facilities. The mall will enjoy a strategically located commercial and retail hub, as it provides direct accessibility to the motorway and neighboring areas from the emirate of Sharjah, Dubai, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain.
"Tilal Mall" is set to become Sharjah's newest and most long-waited landmark, as it falls under a series major masterplanned community-related projects developed by Tilal Properties, with means to fully develop and lead Sharjah's promising real-estate and property sectors.
HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman, Tilal Properties, said: "Our vision is to completely integrate Sharjah's real-estate and property sector, with our vision in developing the largest premium and fully-serviced residential and commercial communities in the emirate. Our story began with Tilal City, which to this day remains a major player in the development phase of Emirates Road's E611. Then our story continued with yesterday's unveil of "Tilal Mall", which allowed us to show our visitors, investors, partners and stakeholders our physical vision in transforming Sharjah's property development sector into a fully integrated service industry."
Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi added: "Tilal City will be a forerunner in contributing to the development of this new suburb in Sharjah, and at the center of the development, Tilal Mall, which will play a key role in promoting investment opportunities and will reflect its strategic potentials on a global scale, further highlighting on what Sharjah has to offer to international investors and property buyers."
Tilal Mall LLC has appointed Arcadis, the leading global design and consultancy firm, as the lead consultant and designer for the mall and hotel complex. Arcadis will provide architectural, engineering and cost consultancy services on the project through to award of a construction contract.
Arcadis is set to finalize the study ahead of Q4 2016 with the construction contract being awarded before the close of the year.
The AED2.4 billion Tilal City is set to become the first-of-its-kind mixed-use community in Sharjah. Comprising 1855 land plots, Tilal City offers the opportunity to UAE residents, as well as GCC nationals, to buy or lease land and develop properties in the emirate for the first time ever.
Strategically located on the Emirates Road, close to Al Dhaid interchange, Tilal City is just 10 kilometers away from Sharjah's International Airport and within convenient commuting distance to nearby emirates, with Dubai only 2 kilometers away.
