39 stores shut down

The municipality shut down 39 stores and 150 parking lots set up randomly. The Makkah Municipality Services Director Mohammad Hazazi said during its inspection campaign in Al-Ghassalah, Al-Adel and Al-Muaisim areas they found these stores in multiple violations of rules, and hence the municipality shut down 39 stores.
Two boys run over by car
JAZAN — Two boys were run over by a car while crossing a road. Fifa Public Hospital Director Ahmad Masoud said two boys who were seriously injured were brought to the hospital. The boys were injured in a road accident while trying to cross a main road. A speeding car ran them over and drove off. The two boys, aged eight years and 13 years, were on their way to a grocery store at nighttime. The police are searching for the driver and are investigating the incident further. The two boys are slowly recovering.
44 suffer food poisoning
TAIF — Forty-four people suffered from food poisoning after eating at a wedding hall in Al-Khurma on Sunday. Taif Health Affairs spokesman Abdulhadi Al-Rabie said Al-Khurma Hospital received 44 women and children who suffered from food poisoning. The health affairs took samples from the patients to test them in the laboratory. The directorate then found out that all 44 patients had eaten at the same wedding ceremony hall. Twenty-two of the patients have recovered and were released from the hospital while the other 22 are recovering and in stable condition.
Filipino worker shot dead
RIYADH — Police arrested a Saudi man for murdering a Filipino worker on Saturday. Riyadh Police reported they received a report from a citizen of a Filipino worker drowning in his own blood at a kitchen utensils store. The victim was in his 50s. The police investigated the incident and concluded that the victim was shot in the head. The police then arrested the murderer who is a Saudi man in his 20s.
Boy shot in the thigh
MAKKAH — A boy was shot in his thigh while playing outside his home. Makkah Police spokesman Col. Ati Al-Qurashi said the police received a report of a nine-year-old boy who was shot as he was playing with his motorcycle near his house. The boy was taken to the hospital and the police arrested the shooters.
Two workers shot
DAMMAM — Two workers were shot while stocking an ATM in Qatif Governorate. Eastern Province Police spokesman Col. Ziyad Al-Raqiti said two workers of a money transport company were stocking up an ATM when they were shot by anonymous shooters in an ambush. The incident took place in Al-Nabiyah City in Qatif Governorate. The company had deployed three workers to feed the ATM with money. The three workers did not follow the appropriate procedure and were ambushed. Two of the three workers were injured in the shooting. The injured victims were taken to the hospital.
