Muhammad, Gates join hands for welfare work

Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense who is also the chairman of the Misk Al-Khair Charity Organization, signed an agreement with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to boost welfare work.
The agreement was signed by Prince Muhammad and Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has also signed a cooperation agreement with the Foundation to train Saudis on the best methods of promoting charity products in the Kingdom.
The Deputy Crown Prince also met Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey during his New York visit.
The two discussed cooperation to train and qualify Saudi cadres and investment in creative technology sectors during their meeting.
The Deputy Crown Prince's meeting with Dorsey followed his meeting with Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg.

Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman arrived in San Francisco on Sunday, in the second phase of his US tour, which started last week with a visit to Washington where he met President Barack Obama and other top US officials.
He met Apple's CEO Tim Cook in New York on Friday.
He granted a foreign operating license to materials manufacturer 3M on Friday. The company, formerly known as the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, is an American multinational conglomerate corporation that boasts $30 billion in annual sales.
Earlier this month, Dow Chemical Co — the No. 1 US chemical maker — became the first foreign company to receive a trading license in Saudi Arabia, which will give the company full ownership in the Kingdom's trading sector.
On Sunday, the Deputy Crown Prince left the US for France.
In Paris, he will meet French President Francois Hollande and a number of French officials to discuss issues and topics of common interest and aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries, the Royal Court said in a statement
Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad sent a cable of thanks to US President Barack Obama after his official visit.
Prince Muhammad said in the cable: "I extend to Your Excellency my deep thanks for the warm reception and generous hospitality accorded to me and the accompanying delegation.
Mr. President, I would like to commend again the historical and strategic relations between our two countries witnessing further development in all fields.
I stress that the discussions held during the visit will contribute to deepening and strengthening these relations and enhancing the bonds of mutual cooperation to achieve the interests of our two countries and their friendly peoples under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Your Excellency.
I wish Your Excellency constant good health and happiness, and the friendly people of the US further progress and prosperity." — Agencies
