Al Yasmin marks 18th Foundation Day, awards ceremony

Al Yasmin International School, Riyadh, celebrated its 18th Foundation Day, Decennial & Quindecennial Award Ceremony recently. This foundation is the vision of, the patron P.V. Abdul Wahab, chairman Peevees Group of Schools and the Founder Sponsor Late Prince Hamad Bin Sulaiman Bin Jabreen, who were passionate to bring individuals from darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge.
The celebration was presided over by the Chief Guest Shaikh Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Bin Jebreen, sponsor-Al Yasmin Int'l. School.
The celebrations began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an. Principal K. Rahamathullah delivered the welcome note. He highlighted the milestone in the journey of AYIS and applauded the whole-hearted contribution of teachers, non-teaching staff and parents in the development of the school.
He also announced about the 50% scholarship (tuition fee) for Grade XI & XII to financially deserving students, who had secured 10 CGPA in Grade X CBSE exam.
The Chief Guest was overwhelmed with immense pleasure by the traditional and warm welcome by the students and the faculty.
The celebration included a scintillating welcome dance presented by the students of KG section. Following this, Quindecennial and Decennial Awardees were felicitated with mementos. The Toppers of Grade X and Grade XII CBSE examination for the year 2015-2016 were awarded with certificates and mementos.
In his presidential speech the chief guest appreciated the school management and teachers for their effort in shaping the young minds for a better future. He appreciated and congratulated the faculties who have sailed with the school right from its inception.
As part of the celebrations a colorful, Arabic dance was put up by the students of primary section and few cultural programs were presented by the staff of AYIS.
P. Kadhiresan, vice principal, boys' section, proposed the vote of thanks. Thus it was a day to reflect not only on what we have accomplished but also to introspect on what more needs to be done. The program culminated with the rendition of Saudi national anthem followed by Indian national anthem.
