The North Indian Fraternity Forum (NIFF), a non-political and non-profit organization, held an exclusive function in honor of Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood, the founder and president of Zakat Foundation of India, who is currently on a visit to the Kingdom. Zakat Foundation of India is working for the educational uplift and empowerment of the deprived sections of society. It is running an orphanage, a charitable hospital, providing stipends to widows, helping flood and riot victims. Apart from this, it also provides training, guidance and motivation to aspirants of India's prestigious civil services exams, UPSC, which selects bureaucrats, like administrative, police, foreign and revenue officers. Since its inception, 76 fellows of Zakat Foundation of India have joined various governmental services in India. During an interactive session with NIFF's office-bearers and members, Dr. Mahmood presented mission and vision of Zakat Foundation of India, which was very well received by the attendees and several members promised sponsorship for the aspirants of UPSC exams.
