The stage is set once again for the Kalayaan Cup 2016 in celebration of the 118th Philippine Independence Day. The bowling event, which is being organized by the Unified Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (UFTBR), will be held on June 03 and 04 at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC), Riyadh. Thirty teams have confirmed their participation in the 4-bowler team bowling tournament. They are: Habagat Uno, Habagat Dos, La Liga Filipina, La Solidaridad, La Propaganda, La Independencia, La Republica, Lakandula, Kartila, Gen. Luna, Mandirigma, Davao Eagles, Batasan, Kundiman, Tandang Sora, Aguinaldo, Aguila, Bataan, Bandila, Rotunda, Mayumi, Biak na Bato, San Miguel, Rotunda 2, Dambana ng Kagitingan, Conquestador, Mt. Apo, Comsofil, Gombursa and Ma. Clara. As in previous events, it will be a jam-packed bowling center for two days as top-notch bowlers from Riyadh slug it out in different contests. Up for grabs will be the championship crown and prizes for the team, doubles, singles, masters and all events competition. This year's event is being sponsored by zeejprint.com together with Metropolitan Bank of the Philippines, Philippine Airlines, Sky Freight and Al-Marai. The officers of UFTBR headed by Ernee Noto, chairman, together with Armin Isles, Cesar De Mesa, Dennis Durens, Rita Sison and Irene Pua thanked all the participants and sponsors for their continued support to this annual event.
