Linksys to showcase the 'next big thing' in home networking at Distree Middle East 2016
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 12 - 05 - 2016

Middle East technology retailers will have their first chance to get ‘hands on' with the next generation of Linksys® home networking innovations, at the Distree Middle East event in Abu Dhabi from 10 to 12 May. Linksys, recognized as a global leader in networking solutions for the home and business, is a latinum sponsor of the event, and will showcase several new networking products at Distree. The latest technology is engineered specifically for intensive uses such as video streaming and online gaming, anywhere in the home and with any device.
"The demands we make of the internet are growing exponentially, and that has placed enormous pressure on the technology people are using to access online content such as 4K high-definition video streaming," said Amanulla Khan, managing director, Linksys, Middle East, Turkey & Africa. "The products we are showing at Distree will show how Linksys is leading the transformation of the online experience, and this will be the first opportunity for our retail partners in the region to experience several of our latest innovations for themselves."
Engineered around the latest advances in MU-MIMO technology – Multi-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output, this new generation of routers promises faster Internet speeds, and reliable connections for multiple devices. The Linksys stand at Distree will give existing and potential channel partners a chance to test the newest devices first-hand, with skilled staff available to demonstrate how the technology can meet consumers' growing expectations.
Products receiving their Middle East debut in June will include the latest in the company's MAX-STREAM series routers — one of the most powerful tri-band routers on the market — which deliver premium business-grade connectivity to the home.
Routers are complemented by the first range extender with next-generation AC Wave 2 technology — MU-MIMO, which provides greater performance with seamless roaming, eliminating Wi-Fi blackspots. Also launching is the first MU-MIMO enabled USB adapter that ensure a best-in-class experience at the end point in the networking chain.
With the rapid pace of change, Linksys works closely with its retail channel partners to ensure customers receive accurate, comprehensive advice tailored to their individual needs. This includes branded experiential zones in major retail outlets, such as an innovative ‘Wi-Fi Clinic' concept recently launched through branches of the major hypermarket chain, Carrefour.
"Streamed content, both video and music, now makes up the majority of internet traffic, while the near-universal use of mobile devices, smartphones and tablets, means most home networks will have several devices connected at the same time, which can reduce the quality of connection for users sharing a Wi-Fi router," said Amanulla Khan. "These latest devices are engineered around this change, to ensure a seamless experience anywhere, for everyone in the home. That kind of capability will be an important factor for consumers."
Networking specialist, Amanulla Khan delivered a keynote speech on consumer research on home networking, current technology trends and future of home networking on Tuesday.
