Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Although Hotel and Hospitality Arabia Exhibition 2016 has been a strategic trade show for businessmen and professionals, several young food lovers have attended the exhibition to educate themselves about food companies and other organizations in the hospitality field. The annual event, started last May 9, will continue until today (May12), at the Jeddah Centre for Events and Forums. Several companies are showcasing advanced machines that are utilized in producing food and beverages. The trade show is presenting the industry's continuous development and expansion through a comprehensive networking and entertainment platform. Some of the exhibitors also are providing the visitors with food and beverages samples of their products as away to market themselves. Some of the exhibition attendees enjoyed tasting, the smoked salmon, cooked meat, chips, juices, international desserts, and coffee. "I tasted several food and drinks. I can say that I enjoyed the Karak tea the most. The exhibition is a useful trade show to know more about the international companies in the hospitality field, and it is nice to taste new products, and communicate with the people who are showcasing their products and marketing their companies. I think it is a very vital exhibition," Kahled, a Saudi visitor said. The 21st edition of food, hotel and hospitality Arabia Exhibition has more than 100 companies from 12 countries taking part in the trade show including, China and Egypt. Many international products were presented to the visitors to taste, such as Turkish sweets. Sarah Ahmed, a Saudi food lover in her 20s, who visited the first day of the trade show, said "it is a very important event since people in the hospitality field will benefit a lot. I was impressed by the advanced technologies that are showcased in the trade show. I like the idea of seeing a Saudi woman marketing to her local food business by letting people try her products." The exhibition also includes entertainment features, such as cuisine from different countries of the world at the Jeddah Open Cooking Championship with the participation of local and international chefs and adjudicated by a panel of renowned judges. Coupled with this, will be the feature of fine art of table display competition at the Art de Table event. It also aims to deliver more tastes, more trends and more trade. The show opens daily at 4-10p.m.
