Gayle raises eyebrows with ‘Blush' baby name
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 23 - 04 - 2016

West Indian batsman Chris Gayle has raised eyebrows by saying he named his baby daughter "Blush," a nod to an infamous scandal which engulfed him in January.
The self-proclaimed "Universe Boss" left many people wondering whether the name was genuine after Natasha Berridge gave birth this week.
Gayle was pilloried over his remark, "Don't blush, baby" when he asked an irate Australian TV presenter for a date live on air during the Big Bash League.
The 36-year-old was fined $10,000 by his club Melbourne Renegades and later made an apology of sorts, describing his comments as "a simple joke."
But Thursday he posted on Instagram: "We would like to welcome the arrival of our beautiful daughter ‘Blush' to this world 2 hours ago."
He later said on Twitter: "Thank you all for the sweet and kind messages. Blush won't Blush, my baby."
The destructive left-handed batsman received a number of congratulatory messages from fans and the cricketing fraternity.
Gayle missed a game for his Indian Premier League franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore, but he may be back in action as early as Sunday.
De Villiers, Kohli lift Bangalore over Pune in IPL
Captain Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers smashed brisk half centuries to guide Royal Challengers Bangalore to a 13-run win over Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League in Pune Friday.
Sent into bat, RCB rode on De Villiers' 83 off 46 balls with the help of six boundaries and two sixes and Kohli's 80 off 63 deliveries, during which he struck seven fours and two hits over the fence, to post a fighting 185 for five.
Later, RCB bowlers rose to the occasion and somehow just managed to restrict Pune to 172 for eight.
Brief scores: Royal Challengers Bangalore 185 for 3 (AB de Villiers 83, Virat Kohli 80; Perera 3-34) beat Rising Pune Supergiants 172 for 8 (Rahane 60, MS Dhoni 41; Richardson 3-13, Watson 2-31) by 13 runs.
Shamsi replaces
Badree at Bangalore
West Indian leg-spinner Samuel Badree has been ruled out of the rest of the Indian Premier League with an injury that he picked in the recent World Twenty20 final.
Badree, who played a major role in the Windies' triumph over England on April 3 by taking two wickets, was unable to play a single match for his IPL franchise, the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Badree, 35, appeared to have hurt his shoulder and wrist while trying to take a diving catch at short third man in the 19th over of the England innings.
RCB has signed South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi as Badree's replacement in the ninth edition of the cash-rich league. — Agencies
