Indian expatriate killed in explosion

An Indian expatriate was killed in a bomb blast near Al-Dalam Police Station in Al-Kharj on Saturday night. The blast targeted a security patrol vehicle parked near a police station, Saudi Press Agency quoted spokesman of the Ministry of Interior as saying Sunday. Two security patrols were also damaged in the explosion. The police are currently investigating the incident and the cause of the explosion. Meanwhile, the father of the victim said that his son, Mohammad Younis, and he had just arrived in the Kingdom. Younis had been in the Kingdom barely 24 hours when he died after suffering a head injury in the explosion. The father said he has been working in the Kingdom as a barber for six years and was happy to have his son come to the Kingdom to help him in his job.
One dead and 16 injured in road accident
AL-SULAYYIL, RIYADH - A man died and 16 were injured in a road accident on Sunday. Riyadh Red Crescent spokesman, Abdullah Al-Miraibidh, said a public transportation bus crashed into a truck on Al-Sulayyil-Riyadh Road on Sunday. Five of the victims suffered severe injuries while the other 11 victims suffered mild injuries. All victims received medical treatment and were taken to a local hospital.
Gang arrested over armed robbery
BURAIDAH - A gang of robbers was arrested for armed robbery and vandalism. Qassim Police spokesman, Capt. Badr Al-Suhaibani, said the police received reports of armed robberies at several gas stations and the theft of several cars that were later found damaged and unusable. The gang stole money from the workers at the gas station and would use the stolen cars for drifting, causing permanent damage to the vehicles. The police identified the gang members by the description given by gas station workers and owners of the stolen cars. The police arrested all gang members after a lengthy search and the case was forwarded to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution.
Asian expatriate kills fellow expatriate
AL-AHSA - An Asian expatriate succumbed to his injuries after being stabbed by a fellow expatriate on Saturday. Eastern Province Police spokesman, Col. Ziyad Al-Raqiti, said the police received reports from a Saudi man that an expatriate in his forties had killed another expatriate who was in his thirties on Saturday. The man stabbed the victim in his thigh after a fight had broken out between them. The police arrested the man and the case was forwarded to the pertinent authority.
Three drown in floods
ASIR - Three people drowned in floods caused by heavy rains and extreme weather while another 43 were stuck in traffic in different governorates. Baha Transportation Directorate spokesman, Misfir Al-Malki, said several roads were blocked in Baha, Taif and Al-Lith. Baha regional airport canceled some arriving flights due to the extreme weather conditions. Several villages were blocked in Taif and school classes were suspended in several areas.
