Summertown Interiors' CSR wins DCCI award for fourth time
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 04 - 2016

SUMMERTOWN Interiors, UAE's leading fit-out contractor specializing in green interiors, bagged last month the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Label award by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) for the fourth time due to its ongoing commitment to sustainable business practices.
Summertown was one of 20 UAE-based companies that received the accolade from the DCCI's 2nd Vice-Chairman Hisham Al Shirawi. Launched in 2010, the CSR Label seeks to highlight the efforts of organizations towards corporate social responsibility and sustainability in the region.
Based on an assessment of four key pillars – workplace, marketplace, community and environment – Summertown has increased its overall certification score by 17 percent and exceeds the label average by over 25 percent compared to its peers in the UAE. Particular recognition was given to the steps the company is undertaking to attain LEED EBOM certification as part of its bid to achieve carbon neutrality by 2020.
Established in 1997, Summertown has been at the forefront of delivering commercial interior projects in the UAE and was the country's first fit-out contractor to occupy LEED Gold certified interiors. The company's mission is to consistently deliver high-end interior projects on time and within budget, whilst helping companies to achieve their environmental goals, directly resulting in operational savings and a better workspace for employees.
The award was accepted by Paul Briers, Projects Director at Summertown. "We are proud as an SME to receive this award alongside major international companies who are deemed real leaders in the field of sustainability. We have come a long way since we embarked on our journey and we're immensely proud of our achievements."
"As a company that walks the talk, our clients, partners and the business community have always been at the forefront of our operations - we look to inspire and help other companies to integrate CSR practises into their business strategy so it becomes the standard modus operandi, both in the UAE and worldwide."
