Speakers regale all at Division B District 79 Toastmasters contest

RIYADH — TM Roji Mathew, area 6, won the first place in the International Speech contest of the 5th Annual Contest and Conference of District 79 Division B at Almas Banquet Hall here with members of Toastmasters fraternity in Riyadh gathering in good numbers here to witness the contest.
The conference was themed as "Learn with Vigor Lead with Passion".
TM Syed Zia ur Rahman, Division B Director, said the event was a big success and an honor for division council members, contest chair, chief judge and all the committee members, area directors and club presidents. He thanked all the office bearers for their support and cooperation.
Zia said: "Our division has a rich history as the one of the strongest Division in Riyadh and it is a proud moment to serve as Division B director. Consistent performance can only mean that club leaders are passionate, committed and possess the knowledge and skills in leading the clubs to such great accomplishments. Mentorship and leadership qualities are very important in every club's success."
Mathew, who captivated the audience with his speaking skills, presented his speech forcefully. His eloquence tilted the scales in his favor with his delivery grabbing the audience's attention that earned him the championship in the international speech contest.
While TM Joy Bas Issa area 22 won the second place in the International Speech contest. TM Sridar was the contest master.
In the humorous speech contest category, TM. Krishna Kumar won the first place as speaker after speaker enthralled the audience with their thoughts and delivery. Kumar's speech generated continuous laughter. TM Mohammed Farhan Abdul Gafoor bagged the second place in the humorous speech contest. TM Marben Ege Asari was the contest master.
TM Joy Bas Issa won the first place in Table Topics and TM Bassam Al-Bahra got second place. TM. Anas Suleiman was the contest master. Issa also won the first place in Evaluation speech contest and the second place was bagged by TM Gihan Surej Tissera. TM Indika Gunaratne was the contest master.
Recognition of contest team by TM Magesh, TM Zia and recognition of winners was done by Magesh, Zia, and DTM. Jovett Lopez.
TM Omar Al-Husseini and TM Afnan Felemban welcomed guests and conducted area clubs' banner parade. Welcome address was delivered by event chair TM Magesh Prabhakara. Souvenir chair was TM Mohammed Ali Yaseen, chief judge was Lopez while conference advisor was DTM Saud Al Omair. A large number of current and past officials and other dignitaries attended the event.
