Six injured in Makkah fire MAKKAH — Six people suffered from smoke inhalation due to a fire that broke out in their home in the holy city on Monday. Makkah Civil Defense spokesman Capt. Naif Al-Sharif said the fire broke out in a two-story house in Al-Nawariyah District. Firemen extinguished the fire and rescued six people from inside the house. The victims all suffered from smoke inhalation but were treated on the spot by paramedics. Student points gun at security guard JAZAN — A student pointed a gun at a security guard after a brawl between the two. Jazan University spokesman Ibrahim Abu Hadi said a university dormitory student got into a verbal fight with a security guard over a traffic violation. The security guard called the student into his office to question him about the violation. The student immediately stood up and pointed a gun at the security guard demanding that he let him out of his office. The security guard complied to contain the situation, then reported the incident to the rest of the security staff members who reported the incident to the police.
