Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) has been honored for its outstanding infrastructure service solutions by 2016 IBM Beacon Awards for second successive year at the IBM Partner World Leadership Conference that was held in Orlando, Florida, United States. Mobily won the award for successful implementation of Business Continuity Project, under its Business Continuity Resilience Services (BCRS), which delivered in partnership with IBM. Each year, this honor is awarded to a select number of IBM Business Partners who have delivered exceptional solutions to drive business value and transform the way clients and industries do business in the future.
IBM Beacon Award recognizes Business Partners who have consistently demonstrated exemplary achievement in a category and is the highest Award a Business Partner can receive. The winners are selected by a panel of expert judges consisting of IBM executives, industry analysts and members of the press. The 2016 awards recognize achievements across a wide-range of solution areas, including IBM Watson, cloud and analytics that are helping to bring clients into the cognitive era.
Ismail Al Ghamdi, Chief Business Officer, Mobily, said "we are proud to have received the prestigious IBM Beacon Award for second year in a row. They key to implementation of such successful and innovative projects is to be cognizant of customer needs and select a technology partner that can help deliver state of the art, optimal solutions. We will continue working with partners to offer innovative infrastructure solutions along with our strategic partner IBM to customers in governmental and private sectors. Indeed, this partnership allows us to provide outstanding services to our customers, which in line with our strategy."
In view of the increasing importance of business continuity solutions and relevant infrastructure, Mobily has been setting up state of the art data centers to support data resilience, disaster recovery and backup solutions. In this context, Mobily's Almalqa 2 Data Center recently became one of the first few centers to get a Tier-IV ranking from Uptime Institute which specializes in evaluating data centers around the world.
"The IBM Beacon Awards recognize Business Partners who continually deliver transformative solutions that help clients prepare for the cloud and cognitive era," said Marc Dupaquier, General Manager, IBM Global Business Partners.
