Okaz/Saudi Gazette JAZAN — Employees at the Education Directorate are still recovering from the shock of Friday's shooting incident that took the lives of seven teachers.. Dayer Bani Malik Education Director Mohammad Al-Malki said the teachers at the directorate and its staff present at the time of the ghastly crime still cannot figure out the motive. "There was no provocation. The killer was was not riled up by anyone or angered in any way. Seven teachers were killed in less than 10 minutes. The shooter just barged in and started shooting at everyone he saw," said Al-Malki. He also said the shooter did not demand anything before he began shooting. "Investigations on the case are ongoing. I have not received any previous notifications or complaints about him. Maybe there were problems in the school he worked at. But I did not receive anything from the school he worked at," said Al-Malki. He added he could not find a clue as to why the shooter would have any grudges against the directorate and the people who worked there. "There have been rumors that the shooter was reallocated to a different school on sudden notice and that could have been a motive for his outrage. The rumors are untrue. The shooter was not transferred anywhere and his shooting was random without targeting anyone in particular," said Al-Malki. Acceptance and Testing Director Hussain Al-Malki said what he witnessed was like a horror film. "I went out of the office to buy a few things from the grocery. When I came back I was shocked with what I saw. Pools of blood were everywhere. Everyone was bustling to call the police and the ambulance," he said. He added the directorate is awaiting results of the investigations.
