JEDDAH — "The International community should note the violence and persecution of India on Kashmiri people and resolve the problems of Kashmir according to the resolution of United Nation and back the hopes of Kashmiri people of ‘self determination'," said Pakistan Consul General Shehryar Akbar Khan at the "Kashmir Solidarity Day" event organized by Kashmir Committee (KC) Jeddah at the consul general's residence here.
Khan welcomed the guests and members of the Kashmir Committee. He said Pakistan showed its firm support to Kashmiris in their legitimate struggle for their fundamental human rights, including their inalienable right to "self-determination".
Shehryar also spoke about the violations of human rights, unbridled murder, torture and oppression in Palestine. He praised the efforts of those Palestinian who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of their homeland.
He said soon a delegation of OIC member countries would visit Kashmir. He hoped that the delegation would find a peaceful solution of this long-standing conflict through a negotiated process and in a sincere manner between Pakistan and India.
He appreciated the speeches of two young Pakistani students and thanked the efforts of Kashmir Committee (KC) Jeddah who are supporting the Kashmiri cause and organized the event.
Chief Guest Dr. Abdul Aziz Jeffry stressed on a genuine sense of solidarity in the Muslim Ummah and encouraged all possible means of unity.
