Kingdom firm on rooting out terror
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 02 - 02 - 2016

RIYADH — The Council of Ministers on Monday condemned the terrorist attack at Al-Ridha mosque in Al-Ahsa last Friday.
Chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the Cabinet offered its condolences to the families of the dead and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
It stressed that the criminal act is contrary to humanitarian values and against the teachings of Islam.
The ministers reiterated the Kingdom's firm stand in fighting terrorism and deviant ideologies.
The Cabinet said that the Al-Ahsa attack will increase the Kingdom's strength and determination to eradicate the scourge of terrorism and the evils of this transgressing group, Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Turaifi said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Cabinet also commended the security authorities for their investigation revealing the stages of the cowardly act which targeted worshipers at the mosque of Special Emergency Forces in Asir region in August 2015.
On Sunday the Ministry of Interior identified the accomplices of the suicide bomber who targeted the mosque in Abha, the capital of Asir province. It also revealed that nine terror suspects involved in the Abha attack were on the run, and might have fled to Syria.
The Cabinet also reconfirmed the Kingdom's support for the decision of the High Negotiating Committee of Syrian opposition which met in Riyadh to participate in the Geneva talks for the implementation of Security Council Resolution 2254.
The Cabinet welcomed the decision of the coalition command supporting the legitimate government in Yemen to form a high-level committee to assess the accidents and verify procedures. It called as baseless the allegations of some human rights organizations claiming casualties among civilians as a result of the bombing by the coalition.
