RIYADH – The names of the winners of the 6th edition of the King Salman Prize and Grant for studies and research of the history of the Arabian Peninsula were announced on Monday. Dr. Ismail Bin Muhammad Al-Bishri, president of Al-Jouf University, and Dr. Suleiman Bin Abdurahman Al-Dhuyaib from the faculty of tourism and antiquities at King Saud University are the winners of the prize of excellence in the category of Saudis. Dr. Khaled Bin Hamoud Al-Saadun of Iraqi origin from the University of Sharjah bagged the excellence prize in the non-Saudi category, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The winners in the doctoral thesis category are Dr. Badriyah Bint Abdulaziz Al-Baseeri from Princess Nora Bint Abdurahman University and Dr. Al-Jawhara Bint Abdulaziz Al-Saadun of King Saud University while the winners in the master degree category are Rasha Bint Ibrahim Al-Fawaz from King Saud University and Reema Bint Saleh Al-Qarnas from Dammam University. The winner in the scientific article category is Abdulaziz Bin Rashid Al-Sonaidi from the University of Al-Qassim. Three researchers have been chosen for the research grant. The King Salman Prize and Grant is considered as unique as it has become major incentive and encouragement for both male and female academics and researchers to carry out scientific research and studies about the history of the Arabian Peninsula. Bahrain king to attend Janadriyah opening: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has invited Bahrain's King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa to attend the opening ceremony of the 30th National Festival for Heritage and Culture at Janadriyah on Wednesday. The invitation letter was delivered by Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmalik Al Al-Sheikh during a meeting with King Hamad on Monday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
