Saudi Gazette Riyadh — A total of 33 terror suspects have been arrested during the past four days, according to a source. Those arrested are nine Americans, 14 Saudis, three Yemenis, two Syrians, an Indonesian, a Filipino, an Emirati, a Kazakhstan national and a Palestinian. The source said that four Americans were arrested on Monday and five more were arrested during the past four days. On Tuesday, the authorities arrested 15 other terror suspects. Meanwhile, Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Asheikh, who is also the chairman of the Senior Ulema Commission and Religious Research and Ifta Department, condemned the terrorist attacks that targeted worshipers during Friday public prayer at a mosque in Al-Ahsa. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, he said what happened in the mosque is part of a criminal plot to spread sedition, mischief on earth and terror in the hearts of Muslims. The Grand Mufti warned the youth from the illusions caused by the thoughts and ideas of such deviant groups. The attack on Imam Rida Mosque in Mahasen neighborhood in Al-Ahsa region of the Eastern Province killed four and injured 18 worshipers. Saudi Arabia has been battling terrorism on its soil and abroad. Some 532 Daesh (the so-called IS) terrorist suspects accused of planning a number of terrorist operations in the Kingdom are under investigation prior to their trial at Criminal Court in Riyadh. The terrorist suspects were arrested in pre-emptive raids in various parts of the Kingdom. They are from six cells which included two women, one from Saudi Arabia and the other from the Philippines. The majority of the arrested terrorist suspects are Saudis but they also include Egyptians, Yemenis, Jordanians, Algerians, Chadians, Nigerians and other persons belonging to unidentified nationalities. They include four experts in manufacturing explosives and preparing booby-trapped cars. The Interior Ministry announced in April 2015 that it had arrested 93 suspects, including a woman, belonging to Daesh. The ministry said 15 of them had established a terror cell under the name Jund Al-Haramain Al-Sharifain (soldiers of the land of the Two Holy Mosques). They had reached an advanced level of planning before being arrested.
