MAZAGAN Beach & Golf Resort, Morocco's top hotel and entertainment destination, has hosted the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) Grand Final for the first time. The awards acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. WTA landed in Mazagan following regional gala ceremonies.
The award presentations were the highlight of the red carpet event which welcomed over 300 industry leaders from around the globe to the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort in Morocco. Morocco has been selected to be the host for the World Travel Awards Grand Final 2014, 2015 and 2016, following the signing of a three-year agreement. Securing hosting rights for the World Travel Awards Grand Final is just the latest coup for Morocco, which has been able to use its reputation as one of the most politically stable destinations in the region to significantly increase its tourism revenue in recent years.
"We are very excited to welcome the WTA in Morocco this year," said Stephan Killinger, President of Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort. "This reflects the leading position we occupy not only in Morocco but on the global scale." Hundreds of travel and tourism operators have competed in this edition, to separate the good from the outstanding, identifying companies that consistently excel beyond expectation, and take customer expectations to a new, unparalleled high.
World Travel Awards President Graham Cooke said: "It has been an honor to recognize the achievements of the global hospitality sector here at the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort in Morocco."
"Each of our Grand Final nominees has been recognized as a regional leader during our Grand Tour 2015, and this evening we were able to salute the best of the best – the elite of international tourism. My heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of our recipients this evening, it is your hard work, dedication, initiative and investment that makes the tourism sector the success it is today."
