Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, has directed that the security men who participated in arresting two wanted terrorists should be honored. The Crown Prince expressed his deep appreciation for the professionalism and discipline of security forces involved in two security operations which led to the arrest of two wanted terrorists. Security spokesman of the Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday the arrest of wanted terrorist Haitham Ibrahim Hassan Al-Mukhtar who was involved in shooting at a security patrol in Saihat on Nov. 18, 2015, which resulted in the death of two security men, as well as shooting at traffic patrols in Al-Khuwaldiyah district in Qatif on Nov. 9, 2015, which resulted in the injury of a traffic patrol assistant commander and two passers-by. Al-Mukhtar, who was arrested on Monday along with another accomplice, was also involved in the formation of a terrorist cell in Qatif and participated in the manufacturing and throwing of Molotov bombs. The ministry announced on Monday the arrest of a suspect for attempting to firebomb a government building in Qatif. The suspect had been arrested for "attempting to set fire to a government building in Qatif using Molotov cocktails" on Jan. 9. Others were also involved, the ministry said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency. It added that the suspect, who was not named, also confessed to shooting at security officers and torching a bus in the country's east on Jan. 5. Police earlier reported the burning of a bus in Qatif but said there were no injuries.
