Published in The Saudi Gazette on 15 - 01 - 2016

Nadec Blue Star B blanked Nirapara BCC FC 3-0 to storm into the A Division semifinals of the SIFF-Rabea Tea Champions League at the Hilal Sham Stadium near Khalid Bin Waleed Street here.
In another match, Blasters Combined prevailed over Al-Ajool School Yas Club 3-2 and also made it into the last four of the B Division.
In the Al-Abeer Inter-School Champions League, Mahd Al-Uloom International School recorded its first win, defeating Novel International School 1-0. Mahd bounced back from its earlier defeat by playing attacking football from the word go. It struck soon as Jishin George's long shot landed in the goal. With two losses and a draw, Novel bowed out of the tournament. Mohammed Salman of Mahd was adjudged the Player of the Match.
The league championship, organized by Saudi Indian Football Forum, is mainly sponsored by Rabea Tea and supported by Al-Abeer Medical Group, Jeddah National Hospital, TSS Advertising, Fathima Food Stuff, Gamon Group, Kathir Rice, Al-Ryan Polyclinic and Sharafiya Trading.
Blue Star B dominated a hapless BCC and scored in the 12th minute through a freekick by striker Abdul Rauf which beat the rival goalkeeper. Then Riyas Babu made it 2-0 in the 29th minute.
BCC tried its best to make a comeback in second half but like its last match, despite having talented players, it failed to combine as a team. Midfielder Akbar completed the tally for Blue Star. With two losses BCC FC bowed out of the tournament. Blue Star's Abdul Rauf was named the Player of the Match.
With the teams matching well the B Division match was interesting and it produced five goals. It was a must-win affair for Blasters in order to gain a semifinal berth. Hence it attacked from the beginning and led 2-1 in the first half.
Striker Firose Khan netted twice and Badrudhin Mohammed Ali scored once for Blasters Combined, while Salman Haris and Muhammed Ashraf netted for Yas Club. Yas' midfielders made a last-ditch effort for the equalizer but its forwards failed to utilize the chances. Badrudhin Mohammed Ali of Balsters Combined was selected as the Player of the Match.
