Published in The Saudi Gazette on 24 - 12 - 2015

La Hotel, Doha will be accepting reservations for bookings at the 50-storey five-star hotel, which offers a celebratory opening rate starting from QAR895 nett per room, per night.
Guests may also book the "Eyes on the Horizon" package at rates starting at QAR1,045 net per room, per night. It includes access to the hotel's Horizon Club, the largest executive lounge in Doha located on level 42 with 360-degree panoramic views and a choice of privileges. Guests will enjoy buffet breakfast, daily afternoon tea and evening cocktails with drinks and canapés served between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. and many more benefits.
Developed by Al Rayan Tourism Development Company W.L.L., Shangri-La Hotel, Doha towers over the West Bay district, the capital's modern business hub. Its accommodation and lifestyle amenities are complemented by hospitality from the heart with a blend of Asian and Qatari traditions.
Evoking the essence of exclusivity, the hotel's 272 rooms and suites range in size from 46 to 288 square meters and feature a contemporary, yet elegant design with views of the cosmopolitan city or the glistening Arabian Gulf. In addition, the hotel offers 42 fully serviced and stylishly furnished apartments, a first in the city.
"The much-anticipated opening of Shangri-La Hotel, Doha represents another significant milestone for ARTIC and for Doha's hotel industry. The Shangri-La brand is widely recognized in the hospitality sector as a benchmark for quality and we are delighted to be bringing Shangri-La's levels of luxury and service to Doha," said H.E. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Faisal Al Thani, vice chairman of ARTIC.
"As Qatar's tourism infrastructure continues to develop through the construction of new hotels, resorts and other tourism facilities, ARTIC will play a key role in this growth by expanding our local portfolio with high quality assets and by partnering with well-known, world-class operators, such as Shangri-La."
True to Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts' philosophy of creating a sense of place in each of its destinations, Shangri-La Hotel, Doha honours the rich heritage of the Qatari peninsula while preserving its signature Asian charm. In a nod to one of Qatar's proud traditions, the building is designed to resemble a falcon's head, an element echoed by the falcon that welcomes guests at the main entrance.
"The opening of Shangri-La Hotel, Doha reconfirms our commitment to expansion in the Middle East," said Coen Masselink, the hotel's general manager. "We are delighted to be in Doha in a prime location with such dedicated owners."
The hotel houses a total of seven food and beverage outlets, including a Chinese restaurant and club/lounge on levels 43 and 44.
The Health Club comprises a 2,000-square-metre pool deck with an outdoor swimming pool encircled by over 70 trees, a state-of-the-art gym, Jacuzzi, and steam and sauna facilities. Guests will also be able to indulge in healing treatments at Shangri-La's iconic CHI, The Spa.
The event and banqueting facilities include a Grand Ballroom of 840 square meters and eight meeting rooms.
The hotel will also offer Shangri-La's customary free wireless LAN and high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel and guestrooms.
Room reservations can be made through email [email protected] or by calling (974) 4429 5050 for the English speaking line or (974) 4429 5051 for the Arabic line. — SG
