JEDDAH — The two-day World Muslim Congress (WMC) meeting concluded with new appointments at Hamra Pullman hotel. The positions that were announced and approved by all members was Dr. Saleh Al-Aad, Dr. Omar Abdullah Nasseef and Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Nasseef as assistant secretary general Mohammed Ali was appointed as assistant secretary general for Pakistan. The 5 advisors panel included Dr. Tanweer Zaman, Dr. Mahmood Nasseef, Dr. Tasneem Zaman, Dr. Tariq Abbasi and Dr. Muzamal Haque. On the second and final day renowned writer Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi spoke on the situation of Muslims in Kashmir. Syed Ehsan-ul-Haq, convener Pakistan Repatriation Council (PRC) explained the miserable camp life of stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh. Dr. Mazhar-ul-Haq highlighted the threats to Islam in Bangladesh and Dr. Hamid Al-Refaie, assistant secretary general WMC, made a presentation. The Members of the Committee thanked Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman for his continuous support for Islamic and Muslim causes. They also appreciated his initiative for setting up 34-state Islamic military coalition to combat terrorism. The meeting condemned the killing and torture of innocent people by Daesh (so-called IS) and other terrorist groups in the name of Islam. They condemned Islamophobia and all Islamophobic and racist attacks on Muslims in various parts of the world. The meeting urged governments of all countries where Islamophobia is common to take strong and effective measures to protect Muslims. The WMC appreciated the support of various communities against Islamophobia and attack on Islam and Muslims. The group urged all Islamic centers and mosques to regularly hold workshops and educational program to prevent radicalization of the youth. The WMC appreciated all countries that have accepted Syrian refugees. The meeting urged the world conscience to condemn the regular killing of Palestinians and find a final solution to the problem. It also condemned the desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Palestine. The WMC condemned the attack and desecration of any place of worship, be it a mosque, church, synagogue or temple. It urged all Muslims to participate in Dawah activities to promote the true spirit of Islam to various non-Muslim communities in a practical and peaceful manner.
