Five injured in road accident

HAFR AL-BATIN — Five people were severely injured when a truck lost control on the Riyadh-Hafr Al-Batin expressway and crashed into a small mosque on the side of the road. Teams from Civil Defense arrived at the location and transferred those injured to King Khaled Hospital. Police teams are currently investigating the accident.
Small fire at festival in Jazan
JAZAN — A small fire broke out inside Al-Areesh entertainment festival in Jazan while a small truck was unloading gasoline at the festival. The truck caught fire and Civil Defense teams rushed to the location to battle the fire before it could spread. People were evacuated immediately and the fire was brought under control.
Civil Defense investigators said that the truck driver failed to comply with safety features when unloading gasoline and that this was the main cause of the fire.
Gas truck overturns
ABHA — Civil Defense teams evacuated residential buildings and shops near an overturned gas truck in Tathleeth province in Asir. The driver of the truck lost control and crashed on the side of the road. Civil Defense officers immediately cordoned off and evacuated the area as a precautionary measure until the threat was removed. The company that owns the gas truck was contacted and sent two other trucks to empty the gas container.
Nurses evacuated after fire in Al-Ola
MADINAH — Saudi and expatriate residents helped to evacuate 26 nurses from their housing after it caught on fire. The nurses live in housing at Prince Abdulmohsin Bin Abdul Aziz Hospital in Al-Ola province. Two Civil Defense teams arrived at the location and brought the fire under control. Civil Defense is still investigating the cause of the fire.
Teenager rescues man from burning car
JAZAN — A 13-year-old boy rescued a man from a burning car before his vehicle was engulfed in flames after it overturned on a road in Jazan. The boy, along with his father, stopped and rushed to the car that had already caught on fire. The boy was able to break a window and drag the unconscious man from inside the car to safety before the car was completely engulfed in flames. Police said that the victim was speeding when he lost control of his car and it overturned.
