Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 12 - 2015

RIYADH — An Eminent Urdu journalist from Hyderabad and Joint Editor of Etemaad Urdu daily, Aziz Ahmed claimed that the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) lost in the Bihar elections due to misdirection by religious leaders. The election campaign witnessed thousands of people gathering to listen to its leaders, reflecting the attachment of Muslim community towards AIMIM. But lack of proper guidance by religious leaders impacted their decision on voting day.
Aziz Ahmed is a longtime associate of AIMIM leaders and advisor of Akbaruddin Owaisi, and played key role in launching the party's mouthpiece Etemaad Urdu daily in 2005. He was felicitated and honored by Bazme Ittehad Riyadh last Friday at Saffron Restaurant.
Bazme Ittehad President Ahmeduddin Owaisi, Mohammed Rafeeq, vice president, and founder of Bazme Ittehad in Riyadh Abdul Rahman Saleem presented a memento of appreciation to Aziz Ahmed in recognition of his valuable services and contributions at Etemaad Urdu Daily.
Aziz Ahmed thanked Bazme Ittehad and the Indian community for felicitating him. He said AIMIM is the only political party that raises many issues in parliament and the legislative assembly. AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi has displayed his skills in debates on various TV channels and is a well-known leader among masses, Aziz said, adding from time to time he has raised many key issues like Dadri, Yakub Memon case, Semanchal issue etc.
Aziz praised Akbaruddin Owaisi for doing humanitarian work and for spending millions of rupees to uplift the Muslim community. He established an educational trust that runs many schools and vocational course for women.
About 10,000 students get free education, books and uniforms in these schools. Advanced syllabus was developed by combining modern education with Islamic teaching to generate professionals with knowledge of religion.
Aziz said more than 30,000 women have benefited from vocational training and Islamic teachings. In vocational training job-oriented courses like tailoring, henna designing and spoken English were taught. He said many people also get state-of-the-art medical facilities at affordable prices at Owaisi group of hospitals in Hyderabad.
Amjad Hussain Zubair, Mohammed Ather, Iqbal Hussain and others presented bouquets to the guests. Zubair was also inducted in Bazme Ittehad Riyadh as a member. Abdul Rahman Saleem welcomed the gathering. Ahmeduddin said under the able leadership of Asaduddin and Akbaruddin AIMIM is doing tremendous work for the upliftment of the Muslim community. He elaborated the services of AIMIM since its formation. He also introduced Aziz.
Mohammed Rafeeq thanked the guests for attending the meeting at a short notice. Akthar Ul Islam also spoke on this occasion. Mohammed Farooqui Shabaz, general secretary, conducted the proceedings. Syed Mozzam Ali proposed vote of thanks.
