Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 12 - 2015

Retail franchise operator Alshaya was the winner of ‘The Best Talent Acquisition Team' award for the ‘emerging markets' category in the MENA region at the recent LinkedIn Talent Awards held in Dubai. Over 700 organizations participated in the awards, which aim to recognize excellence in talent acquisition and employer branding in the MENA region.
The Alshaya Recruitment team won the Award for their effective use of the LinkedIn Recruiter platform. Using LinkedIn tools effectively to attract top talent, both locally and internationally, the Alshaya recruitment team managed to enhance their searches and reach both active and passive candidates for key roles in the company.
"This award recognises the hard work and dedication of the team. Two years ago, we only had a handful of recruiters using the platform; now it is one of our top sources of promising candidates," said Nicholas Beesley, HR senior vice-president at Alshaya.
Ali Matar, head of Talent Solutions at LinkedIn MENA, said: "We are pleased to recognize our top Talent Solutions clients in MENA for 2015. Alshaya's excellent talent acquisition practices come from the company's strategic approach to social recruiting, which in turn contributes significantly to their brand strength and impacts positively their employee retention and engagement."
With over 44,000 employees from 110 nationalities from around the globe, Alshaya believes that the strength of its business lies in the skill and commitment of the people it employs. "In today's fast-paced world, it is important to create a culture in which potential and existing employees are comfortable using all available tools and technology to make the most of their potential," said Beesley.
