Published in The Saudi Gazette on 13 - 12 - 2015

New Jersey winger Kyle Palmeri scored on a breakaway with 39.3 seconds left in overtime to lift the Devils to a 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings at the Prudential Center in the NHL Friday.
Power play goals by Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar in the second period gave the Red Wings a two-goal advantage, but the Devils rallied to tie it on third-period goals from Damon Severson and Sergey Kalinin.
Stars 3, Flyers 1: Antoine Roussel scored the winning goal late in the second period and goaltender Antti Niemi stopped 19 of 20 shots in the Dallas Stars' 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers at American Airlines Center.
Roussel scored his fifth goal of the season 2:32 before the second intermission by poking a rebound through the legs of Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth, who stopped 41 of 43 shots.
Kings 3, Penguins 2 (shootout): Marian Gaborik won it by snapping a shot under the crossbar in the fourth round of shootout, and the Los Angeles Kings won their sixth in a row, beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2.
Jonathan Quick won a goaltender duel with Marc-Andre Fleury in a game filled with considerable offense despite the final score, preventing Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Nick Bonino from scoring in the shootout while making 40 saves through regulation and overtime. Fleury made 38.
Blackhawks 2, Jets 0: Chicago winger Patrick Kane scored a goal to increase his point streak to 25 games as the Blackhawks cruised to a 2-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets.
Goaltender Corey Crawford stopped all 25 shots he faced to collect his third shutout of the season and the 15th of his career. Jonathan Toews also scored for the Blackhawks.
Coyotes 2, Wild 1 (OT): Mikkel Boedker scored his second goal of the game on a rebound 34 seconds into overtime and the Arizona Coyotes snapped a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild at Gila River Arena.
Oilers 7, Rangers 5: The Edmonton Oilers extended their winning streak to five games with a 7-5 win over the New York Rangers.
Lauri Korpikoski had a hat trick and Taylor Hall scored twice in the third period to help Edmonton sweep their five-game homestand and move to within a point of the Pacific Division playoff cutline.
Hurricanes 5, Ducks 1: Hurricanes winger Jeff Skinner scored three goals and goalie Eddie Lack stopped 31 shots for his second victory, leading Carolina to a 5-1 rout of the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center.
Elias Lindholm and Jordan Staal added goals as the Hurricanes (11-14-4) secured their third victory in four games. — Agencies
