New water tariffs for govt offices, industries from Dec. 16

The Ministry of Water and Electricity has announced new tariffs for water and sanitary drainage services for consumers in the government, industrial and commercial sectors will be in force from Dec. 16, Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
The Council of Ministers approved the new tariffs in a decision on Dec. 1, 2014, aimed at safeguarding the Kingdom's scant water resources.
According to the decision, government offices and facilities located in residential buildings will be charged at the rate of SR9 per cubic meter for water and sanitary drainage services.
The tariff for consumers in the commercial and industrial sectors except hotels, hospitals, furnished housing units and shopping malls will be as follows:
For single shops or industrial units with an independent meter, the tariff will be 10 halalas per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 50 cubic meters or less, and SR6 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of over 50 cubic meters, for water supply alone. The tariff will be SR9 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of over 50 cubic meters in case if the consumers also subscribes for sanitary drainage services.
For two shops or two industrial units with a joint water meter, the tariff will be 10 halalas per cubic meter for a monthly consumption of 50 cubic meters or less, 15 halalas per cubic meter for consumption of over 50 cubic meters up to 100 cubic meters, SR6 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of over 100 cubic meters in case of water service only, and SR9 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of over 100 cubic meters in case of water supply and sanitary drainage services.
For three shops or three industrial units with a joint water meter, the tariffs will be 10 halalas per cubic meter for a monthly consumption of 50 cubic meters or less, 15 halals per cubic meter for monthly consumption of over 50 cubic meters up to 100 cubic meters, SR1 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 100 to 150 cubic meters, SR6 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of over 150 cubic meters.
For four shops or four industrial facilities with a joint water meter, the tariff will be 10 halalas per cubic meter for a monthly consumption of 50 cubic meters or less, 15 halalas per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 50 to 100 cubic meters, and SR1 per cubic meter for monthly consumption exceeding 100 cubic meters up to 150 cubic meters. The tariff will be SR2 per cubic meter for monthly consumption exceeding 150 cubic meters and up to 200 cubic meters, SR6 per cubic meter for monthly consumption exceeding 200 cubic meters for water supply alone. The tariff will be SR9 per cubic meter for monthly consumption exceeding 200 cubic meters for both water supply and sanitary drainage services.
In case of five shops or industrial units with a joint water meter, the tariff will be 10 halalas per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 50 cubic meters or less, 15 halalas per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 50 to 100 cubic meters, SR1 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 100 to 150 cubic meters, and SR2 per cubic meters for monthly consumption of 150 to 200 cubic meters, and SR4 per cubic meter for monthly consumption ranging between 200 and 250 cubic meters.
The tariff will be SR6 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of over 250 cubic meters for water services alone. It will be SR9 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of over 250 cubic meters for both water supply and sanitary drainage services.
In case of six or more shops or industrial units with a joint water meter, the tariff will be 10 halalas per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 50 cubic meters or less, 15 halalas per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 50 to 100 cubic meters, SR1 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 100 to 150 cubic meters, SR2 per cubic meter for monthly consumption of 150 to 200 cubic meters, and SR4 per cubic meter for consumption of 200 to 300 cubic meters.
The tariff will be SR6 per cubic meter for monthly consumption exceeding 300 cubic meters in case of availability of water services alone. It will be SR9 per cubic meter for monthly consumption exceeding 300 cubic meters in case both water and sanitary drainage services are subscribed.
The tariffs for water and sanitary drainage services to consumers in big commercial firms with independent water meters, including hotels, hospitals, furnished apartments and shopping malls, will be as follows:
SR1 per cubic meter in case of the consumption of 50 cubic meters or less; SR6 per cubic meter for consumption exceeding 50 cubic meters for water supply alone and SR9 per cubic meter for both water and sanitary drainage services.
