JEDDAH — Red Sea International School boys' section continues to operate despite the Ministry of Education's decision to close the institution. School Principal Saad Al-Subaie said the girls' section was closed but the boys' section continues operating with 290 students attending classes. "The death of the child is the responsibility of the school bus company and not the responsibility of my school. We have negotiated with the company two years ago to have nannies accompany the children but the company refused the idea," said Al-Subaie. He added the boys' section is not related to the incident and that is why it is still operating. "In the girls' section, we have students from kindergarten all the way to high school. As for the boys' section, we only have students from the fourth grade onwards. We are running our classes as usual. The one who should be penalized for the incident is the company of the school bus," said Al-Subaie. Jeddah Education Director Abdulmajeed Al-Ghamdi said the ministry's decision was clear. "The decision was to shut down the school permanently. The decision applies to both sections and the decision was taken after careful and thorough investigation. We have already announced that we will facilitate the transference procedure of the parents and the students," said Al-Ghamdi.
