JEDDAH — Good and proper education plays a great role in shaping our future and professional career said Dr. Mohammed Umar Chapra, a well known dignitary, scholar, Islamic economist, author of various books and recipient of King Faisal Award, recently.
Speaking at the 4th annual awards and prizes distribution among meritorious students of the subcontinent community organized by Memon Welfare Society (MWS) at Al Shallal Park Auditorium, here, Chapra said education is an essential part of one's life. In his address Dr. Chapra said, "Education helps us to develop personality and earn recognition and respect in family and society. In short, we can say that education is socially and personally an essential part of the human life."
He said "I know the MWS since its inception and praised the welfare services that the society is extending to the people."
He congratulated the students who received awards and advised other students to work hard in their studies to stand among award recipients next year. He expressed his best wishes to the students and the society.
Dr. Chapra presented plaques of appreciation and prizes to the male and female outstanding students of grade one to university graduates who secured outstanding positions in their examination held in 2015.
There were doctors, chartered accountants, master degree holders and outstanding students of A-Level O-Level and of other lower grades among the recipients of awards. The program began with recitation of verses from Holy Quran by young Hafiz Abdullah Abdul Rahman Khimani. Anzalna Jawed Ashraf presented Alama Iqbal's poem ‘DUA'. Mansour Shivani, vice president, welcomed the guests.
Tayyab Moosani, secretary general, conducted and briefed the social and welfare activities of the society, which was applauded by the audience.
Moosani proudly announced that there was an outstanding student among awardees today who secured top position in American School and he was awarded with an appreciation certificate signed by American President Barak H. Obama.
Complimentary gifts sponsored by various companies and businessman were distributed to almost 500 male and female attendees of the event. The event concluded with personal vote of thanks by Younus Habib, Mansoor Shivani, Shoaib Sikander, Irfan Kolsawala, Rashid Kasmani, Nasir Ibrahim and A. Qader Teli.
Ahmed Abdul Karim attended the function as guest of honor. Children enjoyed the rides in Shallal Park until late night.
