The consultancy committee at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs presented a wise suggestion to the Ministry of Interior. It was about opening the doors to media outlets — social and mainstream — to broadcast the Interior Ministry's counseling sessions for people arrested in cases related to terrorism and extremism. Islamic Affairs saw that broadcasting the counseling sessions through media outlets would promote public awareness and the families of people who received the counseling could follow it up with their children upon their release from prisons. It may also help protect the children from other families from falling into the extremist trap. Broadcasting the counseling process through media outlets should benefit all young men who are brainwashed by terrorist outfits and ready to implement their plots. Another issue relevant here is the making the media programs on counseling sessions suitable for all citizens to watch so that they will benefit everyone. Local people should have access to these sessions so that they know how people imprisoned for extremist acts and deviant views are safe when released. As long as terrorist organizations are a known enemy to every citizen and as long as their plots target the safety of all citizens, it is their right to feel secure on the one hand. On the other, it is also their duty to take on the role of creating awareness in their surroundings, especially after they learn through public counseling how to convince those who stray to get back on the right path.
