Why do terrorists blow themselves up inside mosques?
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 20 - 11 - 2015

There is a huge difference between the Islam which Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ordered us to spread and the one some people practice these days. The latter is based on hostility, aggressiveness, oppression and terrorism. It is the complete opposite of the true and right Islam, which teaches us noble values and orders us to respect non-Muslims. Why have these values disappeared these days?
When Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) conquered Makkah over 1,400 years ago, he set the people of Makkah free and did not take revenge even though they had hurt him and had tortured his companions. Yet today some Muslims have become so extreme in their actions that they do not hesitate to kill their fellow Muslims in cold blood for no reason at all.
The only explanation I have for this is that some outsiders are involved and there are some underhanded deals taking place. Some Muslims are puppets who are manipulated by others. They are duped into blowing themselves up in mosques and killing innocent people who are engaged in prayer. In July, a terrorist blew himself up inside the Al-Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait in the holy month of Ramadan. Several similar incidents have taken place in Egyptian mosques. Worshippers in a mosque in Sana'a, Yemen were victims of a similar incident. We have seen the same in Libya, Syria and other Muslim countries.
In the city of Saihat, Al-Qatif, innocent people were killed needlessly at Al-Kawthar Mosque. More people would have been killed had it not been for the swift action of security officers. What should we call those who are enemies of mosques? What have these terrorists gained from blowing themselves up inside mosques and killing innocent people? Terrorism will never be a path to martyrdom. It will never lead to Paradise.
