Lebara, Huawei in deal to boost mobile experiences
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 19 - 11 - 2015

Lebara Mobile KSA, the virtual mobile operator in Saudi Arabia, has announced signing an agreement with Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider, to supply Lebara Mobile KSA with its own virtual platform in the Kingdom, which will enable Lebara KSA to provide added-value services to customers around the region.
The new platform will empower Lebara Mobile KSA to become a Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE), enhancing its position in the telecom sector and being able to provide new additional services to other telecom operators in KSA and across the region. Lebara Mobile KSA — a Saudi company owned by an alliance of major Saudi investors and Lebara Group — currently operates as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) by making use of other company's existing network infrastructure to provide added-value mobile services to the end user.
The latest agreement was signed during a press conference attended by Fadi Kawar, CEO of Lebara Mobile KSA, and Mr. Ramadan Ding, CEO of Huawei Saudi Arabia, alongside the executive teams from both companies.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Meshaal, Chairman of Lebara Mobile KSA, has stressed the importance of this step in enhancing the leadership and the company value , as well as highlighting the strategic value of the latest partnership with Huawei as Lebara Mobile KSA moves steadily towards achieving its growth strategy.
Kawar commented: "Deploying this new platform is a significant step in augmenting the infrastructure of Lebara so that we can provide more advanced offerings and higher customer service based on transparency, simplicity and quality with competitive and unprecedented rates. Partnering with Huawei is an extension of an existing cooperation between the two companies as Huawei is one of the leading telecom suppliers of advanced technologies in the world. This partnership will help us to strengthen our presence in the Saudi market, leveraging on the vast experience of Lebara internationally."
"Working with many MVNOs globally, we know how important it is for them to improve customer experiences, differentiate from competitors, and move into the new digital era while running a healthy and sustainable business. We look forward to supporting Lebara Mobile KSA on this latest business transformation and opening up new opportunities for Saudi's thriving telecom market," said Ding.
Huawei Saudi Arabia has worked with many of the Kingdom's top telecom operators through an established end-to-end solutions portfolio that gives customers competitive advantages in telecom and enterprise networks, devices and cloud computing. Recently celebrating its 15 year anniversary in Saudi Arabia, the company supports local partners with a network of more than 1300 employees in the Kingdom as well as several state-of-the-art training and innovation centers run with Saudi partners and universities. — SG
