Renowned Saudi designer Dana Al Alami's hand-selected collection of rare and one-of-a-kind high-value jewelry fetched $100 million at an exclusive auction hosted by Dubai Tourism and Burj Al Arab over a two-day period. The highly anticipated auction attracted a number of prominent high-net-worth clients, investors and VIPs from Europe as well as the GCC countries, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the collection comprising a sparkling array of 130 rare jewelry creations designed with precious stones and gems such as diamonds, rubies and emeralds among others. The line-up included 20 necklace sets, 50 rings, 20 pairs of earrings, 20 bracelets, 10 pins and pendants, and 10 pearl creations. "We would like to congratulate Dana Al Alami on the resounding success of this auction, which also reinforces Dubai's position as a major global diamond and jewelry capital of the world, with a burgeoning high-end luxury market. "Dubai takes great pride in encouraging local and regional talent and harnessing indigenous potential across all areas of art and fashion. We look forward to continue promoting and providing large-scale opportunities for emerging artists from the GCC as well as the wider Middle East region," said Mana Al Suwaidi, Regional Director – Middle East and Sub-Continent, Dubai Tourism. "I am truly delighted to have had the opportunity to showcase my hand-selected collection of jewelry in Dubai for the first time. The response has been phenomenal and I would like to thank Dubai Tourism and Burj Al Arab for their support and contribution in making this auction such a huge success. "Dubai has long been recognized for its commitment to constantly provide opportunities to professionals across every artistic field and this auction serves to only reinforce the emirate's unparalleled position as one of the most sought after international platforms for the growing community of creative professionals in the region. I look forward to repeating this success in the future both locally in Riyadh and the rest of the GCC countries as well as internationally in Geneva and London," said Dana Al Alami.
