Ma'aden strategic partner of Saudi Mining Exhibition 2015
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 10 - 2015

SAUDI Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) is the strategic partner of the first ever Saudi Mining and Minerals 2015 Exhibition and Symposium taking place on Oct. 27-29 in Riyadh.
The event will bring mining professionals from all of the world to Saudi Arabia to learn more about the tremendous recent advancements in the Kingdom's mining industry.
Throughout the event, Ma'aden will highlight its leading role in developing the mining sector as the third pillar of Saudi industry, beyond oil and petrochemicals.
Ma'aden CEO and President Khalid Al Mudaifer said "Saudi Mining and Minerals 2015 offers delegates a great opportunity to see how we've become one of the world's fastest growing mining companies by building full value chains across a number of commodities. By developing modern industrial cities like Ras Al Khair and Wa'ad Al Shammal; and by delivering sustainable growth to local communities."
While the event will be a venue for global participants to discuss how to nurture global best practices within the Saudi mining and minerals sector, Mudaifer believes it will also help delegates identify mining investment opportunities throughout the Kingdom.
"Through the exhibition and symposium, delegates will see for themselves the significant growth we're witnessing in the Saudi mining sector, and they will potentially find opportunities to partner with Saudi companies and offer their services throughout the Saudi mining supply chain," said Mudaifer.
Although many opportunities exist in the sector, Mudaifer is quick to point out that those seeking to participate must focus on local content.
"Our mining sector is characterized by a focus on developing full value chains within the Kingdom and delivering the maximum possible benefit to local economies," Mudaifer added, "So whether companies are seeking opportunities in technology, infrastructure or equipment, in order to be successful they must develop a local footprint, they must participate in the development of local businesses and they must ensure that mining projects benefit local communities to the greatest extent possible. In our own localization strategy, Ma'aden requires all of our contractors to meet minimum local content requirements for hiring and spending."
Ma'aden will join over 50 exhibitors from 10 countries participating in Saudi Mining and Minerals 2015. The event will also feature over 100 distinguished speakers from academia, government and private sector entities from Saudi Arabia and around the globe.
