Reel & Rom, Pak Young, Jamoom Fighters prevail in Kanoo League

JEDDAH — Reel & Rom, Pak Young and Jamoom Fighters prevailed with contrasting wins against their respective opponents in the 2nd week of Kanoo Premier League, sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association.
Pak Young beat Al-Khulais by 3 wickets. Batting first Al-Khulais was restricted to 126 for 7. Tariq 30 (5 fours) and Adil 39 (5 fours, 2 sixes) were the lone contributors. Others succumbed to the penetrative bowling of Shabbir, who took 3-21. In reply, Pak Young was made to struggle by Ansar (3-28) and Adil Khan (2-22). However some sensible batting by Subz Ali (23), Shahid 44 (6 fours) and Humayun 33 (3 fours, 1 six) enabled it to overcome the target reaching 127-7 to win by 3 wickets.
Jamoom Fighters downed Hyderabad Green by 30 runs. Jamoom Fighters put up an imposing tally of 199-9 in their allotted overs. Naeem (50 off 23 balls) and Usman Butt (58 in 31 balls) set the ball rolling. Arshad chipped in with 39. Badshah Khan bowled well to take 4-13. In reply, Hyderabad Green fought well but fell short of the target by 30 runs ending at 169 for 9. Sadiq (28), Atta (27), Waliullah (33) and Zia (35) batted well but could not pull the game for their side. Usman Butt shone with the ball, taking 3-25 and Akmal scalping 2-33.
Reel & Rom thrashed KAIA by 124 runs. Reel & Rom posted an impressive score of 212-6. Imran Butt batted flamboyantly, scoring 61 off 22 balls (6 fours and 4 sixes). Ilyas played a hurricane innings (52 off 19 balls — 6 fours and 3 sixes). Giving them good support were Rasheed (32) and Afridi 27). Ameen took 2-28. KAIA was bundled out for 88. Ameen (31) was the only batsman to offer resistance as Mustafa (3-7), Bilal (2-10) and (Amjad 2-13) bowled superb spells.
Ittihad thumped Kashmir-XI by 7 wickets. Kashmir-XI managed 163-8 thanks to Awais 53 (3 fours, 4 sixes) and Shabbir Ali 39 (3 fours, 2 sixes). Abdul Waheed and Fahad picked up 3 wickets each, while Khalid claimed 2-10. In reply, Ittihad reached the target fairly comfortably scoring 165-3. Fahad (43), Azam (31), Waheed (26) and Jamil (26) did the bulk of the scoring to enable their team snatch a 7-wicket win.
ECU lines beat Al-Boroj by 7 wickets. Al-Boroj put on 158-5. Rehan hit 50 and Mohsin 23. Zain picked up 2 wickets. ECU Lines was home (162) for the loss of three wickets. Javed led the way with a superb 61 off 40 balls. Umar (30) and Azad (24) gave him good support. Usman and Sadiq picked up a wicket each.
