Published in The Saudi Gazette on 19 - 12 - 2011

Bernard Pierce ran for two touchdowns and Chris Coyer threw for 169 yards and a TD to help Temple beat Wyoming 37-15 in the New Mexico Bowl Saturday as college football's bowl season got under way.
The Owls had three interceptions en route to its second bowl victory in school history. The first interception came at the start of the second quarter when Temple's Kee-arye Griffin picked off Brett Smith's pass to set up Matt Brown's 1-yard touchdown run that gave the Owls a 21-0 lead.
Temple's Kevin Kroboth got the last interception late in the game, resulting in a field goal.
Temple was playing in its second bowl game in three years, having lost to UCLA in the EagleBank Bowl in 2009. Prior to that game, the Owls hadn't been in a bowl in 30 years.
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Ohio 24, Utah State 23: In Boise, Idaho, Tyler Tettleton scored on a 1-yard run with 13 seconds remaining to lift Ohio University past Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl for the school's first-ever bowl victory. Tettleton was 3 of 4 on Ohio's 61-yard drive in the final 2 minutes, completing a 14-yard pass to LaVon Brazill on fourth down to put the Bobcats inside the 1-yard line with 37 seconds left on a play that was initially ruled a touchdown.
Tettleton scored two plays later when he rolled out to the right and outran two defenders to the end zone. He threw for 220 yards and also had two passing touchdowns. The Aggies took a 23-10 lead on Michael Smith's 11-yard run in the third quarter. But the Bobcats began their comeback on the next possession when Tettleton fired a 44-yard TD pass to Brazill with 3:45 left in the third.
New Orleans Bowl
Louisiana-Lafayette 32, San Diego State 30: In New Orleans, Brett Baer kicked a 50-yard field goal as time ran out to lift Louisiana-Lafayette to victory in the New Orleans Bowl. Playing in their first bowl game as a Div. I Football Bowl Subdivision team, the Ragin Cajuns led most of the way before Aztecs quarterback Ryan Lindley connected with Colin Lockett on a 12-yard touchdown to give San Diego State a 30-29 lead with 35 seconds to go.
