The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), on Monday launched the website (www.wifb-bh.com) for the "Women in the Financial and Banking Sector Conference." Taking place on Nov. 30, 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel, the event is held being under the patronage of Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW. The website provides an overview of the planned conference and its agenda. It also includes information on the many notable speakers taking part, as well as the events supporters and sponsors. The conference, which forms part of the 2015 Bahraini Women's Day celebrations, will mark the conclusion of a year-long campaign to showcase and promote the role of women in the financial and banking sector. It will also follows a series of roundtable and town hall sessions that have been taking place throughout 2015 and which have been bringing together leaders and women of all levels within the sector to discuss and debate topics of importance. Dr. Huda H. Al Maskati, Executive Director – Corporate Services at the CBB, said "we are pleased to launch the conference website for this landmark event, which will celebrate and promote the role of women in Bahrain's banking and financial sector. Over the past 50 years women have made outstanding contributions to the development of the industry and this year-long campaign and conference are not only devoted to highlighting these accomplishments but ensuring that women can rise to even further heights. We look forward to the event in November bringing together a formidable group of women, including the next generation of leaders, and other industry veterans and decision makers in support of the leadership role for women in the financial sector." The conference and other events leading up to the conference have been organized with the support of the industry.
