York solutions offer care of fresh water
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 19 - 10 - 2015

Al Salem Johnson Controls (ASJC), a pioneer provider of integrated solutions that incorporate HVAC equipment that increase energy efficiency, was one of the main sponsors of the District Cooling Arabia Conference, organized by the Flemming Gulf in Riyadh recently.
The District Cooling Arabia Conference under the title "Innovative Cooling Technologies for The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia", discussed mainly two issues: energy efficiency & water conservation. It also covered diversified areas, including the Role & Involvement of different Government departments in driving District Cooling in the Kingdom, and District Cooling Regulations and Guidelines enforced in the Kingdom.
Al Salem Johnson Controls "York" has been keen to be one of the main sponsors and prominent speakers of the Conference as a leading player in this vital industrial sector. Dr. Mohanad AlShaikh, CEO of Al Salem Johnson Controls "York", stated that this Conference gains importance as "Saudi Arabia has become one of the major district cooling hubs in the region," he added, saying that "such a conference is an opportunity to meet with professionals and experts in the region, and to discuss and exchange views on common challenges, and opportunities for growth for district cooling projects in the Kingdom and the region."
Dr. Mohanad AlShaikh thanked the highly qualified engineering teams, which form the company's core strength, who made it possible for the company to add significant achievements to the company's record. Among the mega district cooling projects York engaged in as a key player is the expansion of AlHaram in Makkah, as York has successful in supplying, start-up and commissioning Centrifugal Water Cooler Chillers to the Cooling Plant in AlShamiyah District, with an actual capacity of 120,000 tons of refrigeration in its first phase. The state-of-the-art Chiller Units utilize Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) in the cooling towers.
York chiller product lines are now available with Variable Speed Drives (VSD) that saves significant amount of energy at real work operating conditions. He said "the technical solutions offered by York conserve precious fresh water in desert climate." Stating that the sea water usage has not been fully exploited for heat rejection in Saudi Arabia, except in the Royal commission of Jubail & Yunbu." He wandered why this could not be done in major cities such as Jeddah and Al-Khobar.
Al Salem Johnson Controls "York" has catered to virtually every kind of vertical segment, from Industrial/process/commercial/residential requirements through highly qualified engineering teams, which forms the company's core strength, as the only flexible chiller system solution provider, thereby positioning York as the supplier of choice for many consultants/owners. York product range covers Air cooled chillers that can be designed to work with either oil, gas or steam or hot water, and they all provide energy efficiency solutions and are featured with unique selling points and after sales services.
