Many Third World nations are experiencing political unrest that led to the collapse of their security. Many advanced countries, on the other hand, are experiencing economic crisis that threatens their political stability. By the grace of Allah, our country is as stable as ever and we have maintained a strong economic growth which has enabled the government to invest in several development projects so that citizens will continue to enjoy God's blessings. Our economic and political stability enabled the country to earmark a historic budget last year and there are strong indications that we will have a bigger budget this year. Again, this will enable the government to invest in more development projects aimed at providing prosperity and decent living for all citizens. Let us be thankful to Allah for all these blessings and we must help to preserve and strengthen our economy from any negative factor that may affect our future and that of the next generations. This involves maintaining our national unity and stability. We must be united to counter any attempt to sow discord by people who are envious of our prosperity. Security and stability are the solid foundation of a strong economy. On the part of the authorities, those who are incharge of our economy and other fiscal matters must strive to come up with national development plans, including diversification of our investments to provide us with other sources of income aside from oil. Above all, we should maintain our integrity in all our endeavors and commercial dealings based on high moral standards to make our economy grow further. With high integrity, we can build a protection wall against fraud, chaos and misguided adventurism. __
