Arshad, Wahab hit tons

Arshad Mahmood of Al-Eid XI and Wahab Khan of Pak Shaheen scored magnificent centuries while Hasnain of SAMBA CC missed century narrowly in this week's highlights of the ongoing Castrol T20 cup. The tournament is sponsored by Castrol Saudi Arabia and organized by Riyadh Cricket Association.
At RCA ground-1, Al-Eid trounced Al-Hamra CC by a huge margin of 171 runs. Batting first, Al-Eid XI compiled a massive 293-4 in the allotted 20 overs. Arshad Mahmood blasted the Al-Hamra bowlers as he made a fine 105 runs with the help of 16 fours and 3 sixes. He was ably supported by Kashif Butt (76) and Mohammed Kamran (47). Al-Hamra CC was jolted by some fine bowling by Munir Rana (4-20) as all Al Hamra batsmen struggled except M.Irfan (35). Al-Hamra folded for just 122.
At RCA Ground-2, Mehran CC got the better of GamePro CC by 41 runs. Mehran CC made 203 runs mainly through Shahjehan (39), Aurangzeb (38) and Asad Khan (35). For GamePro CC, Sattar and Mateen took two wickets each. Gamepro CC could make only 162 runs before being all out. Shamsad (39) and Ilyas (31) were the main run-getters. For Mehran, Osman took three wickets while Jan Ghulam and Sarfaraz took two wickets each. At RCA Ground-5, Pak Shaheen continued its march toward a semifinal spot by defeating Seham CC by a wide margin of 140 runs. Wahab Khan of Pak Shaheen compiled his second successive century, a splendid 140, which helped Pak Shaheen amass a big total of 303. Aziz Khan (47) and Ateeq Ahmed (38) gave good support. For Seham CC, Gulzar Ahmed took 2 wickets.
Seham chasing a big total could make only 163 before being bowled out. Only Samiullah (38) and Tabrez (35) batted well. For Pak Shaheen, Waheed Khan and Azam Khan took two wickets each.
At KFSH-2 ground, National CC drubbed KFSH Greens by 63 runs. Batting first, National CC made a competitive score of 176. Saadat (53), Abid (47) and Saleem (27) were the main scorers. For KFSH Greens, M.Shahed (4-40) and Bilal (3-42) bowled well. KFSH Greens batsmen were mesmerized by the spin of Ashraf (3-20), Salman (3-26) and Moeen (3-42) and were bowled out for a paltry 113.
In the afternoon matches, SAMBA CC defeated Friends CC convincingly by 7 wickets. Friends CC took first strike and made 185. Qasim Javed (43) and Tareq (34) were the main scorers. For SAMBA CC, Manzoor (4-32) and Sheraz (3-33) were the main bowlers. SAMBA CC easily overhauled the score by losing only 3 wickets. Hasnain was unlucky to miss his ton by just two runs. Yoga made a quickfire 52 to lead SAMBA CC to fine win.
Fuchs CC continued its impressive form by defeating Champions CC by 4 wickets, CCC batted first and compiled 198. Sharjeel (52) Nadeem (49) were the main scorers. For Fuchs, CC Waseem Ahmed and Rafiq Raja took two wickets each. Fuchs easily reached the target in only 17 overs. Mohammed Naeem (52) and Waseem Ahmed (47) helped their team for an easy win. __
