Hanco Maintenance and Friendster win

Mustaqbal Hospital 81-63 here at the JBL tournament being conducted at Bin Mafouz basketball court here recently.
The winner dominated the rebounding department and made the most of its running game. Al-Mustaqbal defense simply collapsed in the final quarter. Jumao-as and Coronado scored 30 and 29 points respectably for Hanco Maintenance and were adjudged the Titan Players of the Game, while Bertolano scored 37 points for the losing side.
The tournament is principally sponsored by Titan–Al Hussaini and Yahya Investment Group (Shiek Othman Al-Hussaini) with co-sponsors Giordano Fashions (Ahmadullah), ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, Nesma Holdings (Faisal Al-Turki), Al Haddaf Sports Wear (Bayoumi) and Wael Sports Wear (Noel).
In another encounter Al-Saad Construction Company beat NCB Auto Lease 76-65. Al-Saad team manager, Joseph Benco, gave a morale boosting speech before the game.
Al-Saad managed its offense well. NCB tried its best to stop the rot, but Al-Saad was unstoppable. Diamos and Padilla scored 19 and 16 points respectably for Al-Saad. Diamos was named the Giordano Player of the Game. Geniza top-scored with 26 points for the losers.
Elsewhere Friendster beat Paninos 58-49 in their game 1 for the championship series. Paninos tried to keep the rival players at bay, but the winner got a surprise hero in Jameel Cobre, who scored his personal best of 16 points. cobre was adjudged the Nesma Player of the Game. Norman Huerto led Paninos with 14 points.
JDC Yellow also edged White 60-59. White almost won the game but a rally by Yellow put it in the championship game against Green. Jameel Islam's back-to-back triple made the difference as he went on to score a game high of 35 points for Yellow.
Islam was named the JBL Players of the Game, while Abdulrhaman and Ali Lumanog scored 18 and 16 points respectably for the losers.
Solid North, in another encounter, beat Star Market 79-67 to third spot. Star market played undermanned as Solid North wisely played its offense well. Opolentisima and Byan scored 21 points apiece for Solid North and were adjudged the Titan Players of the Game. Dagohoy scored 34 points for Star Market.
