Islanders top Devils for 1st road win

Michael Grabner broke a tie with a short-handed goal and the Islanders beat the Devils, 3-2, here Saturday for their first road win of the season.
Matt Moulson and Josh Bailey also scored for the Islanders, who are 1-5-2 on the road. Al Montoya had 24 saves.
Adam Larsson and Adam Henrique scored for the Devils, who beat the Islanders, 1-0, Friday on Long Island. Martin Brodeur made 23 saves.
The Islanders led, 2-1, before Henrique sent a backhander past Montoya's glove 3 minutes 59 seconds into the third period.
Grabner responded two minutes later when he poked the puck away from Ilya Kovalchuk in the defensive zone and snapped his seventh goal of the season over Brodeur's glove while Bailey was in the penalty box for hooking.
Sabres 5, Capitals 1: Luke Adam scored twice, Jhonas Enroth made 26 saves and Zack Kassian scored his first NHL goal in Buffalo's victory over Washington.
Avalanche 5, Oilers 2: Stefan Elliott scored his first NHL goal and Semyon Varlamov had 31 saves as host Colorado beat Edmonton. The Avalanche trailed, 2-1, before scoring four goals in the third period. They scored two goals in a 1-minute-58-second span early in the period to take the lead.
Bruins 4, Jets 2: Chris Kelly scored two second-period goals and Tim Thomas stopped 40 shots, lifting host Boston to its 11th win in 12 games.
Lightning 5, Panthers 1: Steven Stamkos had two goals and an assist and Mathieu Garon made 24 saves as Tampa Bay beat visiting Florida. The Southeast Division-leading Panthers, who went 0 for 6 on the power play, got a late third-period goal from Shawn Matthias.
Red Wings 4, Predators 1: Valtteri Filppula scored twice against visiting Nashville to lead Detroit to its fifth straight win.
Penguins 4, Canadiens 3: Kris Letang scored 2:09 into overtime, giving Pittsburgh a win in Montreal. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 24 shots for the Penguins; Montreal's Carey Price made 38 saves.
